Community Action Teams is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promote, support, and cultivate humanitarian outreach efforts. We also help to develop new and existing initiatives for emergency preparation, response, and recovery teams. Team leaders are dedicated to the safety and well being of their communities that are willing to give of their time and resources to make a difference.
Community Action Teams’ mission preserves the dignity of individuals and families by empowering communities with a pathway to prepare and survive disasters within a localized grass roots area. We seek to unite these localized teams of citizens with public and private response teams to activate a working action plan. The purpose of the action plan is intended to be duplicated community by community, city by city, and geographic neighboring areas. The plan can be implemented from an individual level up to multi-level systems for entire communities, utilizing resources that are available in each of those communities.
Goals and Objectives
Community Action Teams’ goal is to address the spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical needs of people in times of crisis, hardship and poverty. Our teams build year round community awareness by participation in many kinds of humanitarian outreach activities. This includes short and long term referrals, to facilitate access to human resources, such as disaster relief efforts, shelter assistance, food pantries, and clothing support facilities.
Community Action Teams seek to develop collaborative partnerships between locally established advisory committees. These grass root committees will explore attainable solutions on behalf of the general public. The Advisory Committees’ primary focus will be on the preparation and post positioning of local tools, supplies and equipment that are vitally needed in diverse emergency situations.
Sponsorship Challenge Snapshot: We are seeking underwriter stakeholder support starting at only $12.00 per year that's only $1.00 per month. This will help us subsidize and assist our local communities year-round to those in time of genuine need with non-perishable food, water, hygiene products, clothing, school supplies, medical, eye care and dental services ; as well as the necessary talents, tools and equipment for availability in unexpected diverse emergency response situations.
Our short and long-term goals is to develop unique collaborative partnerships on behalf of local, regional and national per-preparation and post-implementation of humanitarian needs, during and after times of crisis, hardship and poverty.
Your support is valued and appreciated, as we join together to make a difference in our local grass roots communities. For more information on how you can benefit from an existing team or develop a team of your own , please contact a community action coordinator at 832-228-TEAM (8326).
