Community Action Task Force, Inc. (CATF) dba Community Action Teams is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded in 2010. Our local teams are dedicated to promote and support a culture of preparedness and humanitarian outreach efforts. We also develop new initiatives for emergency preparation, response, and recovery teams. Team leaders are dedicated to the safety and well being of their communities and are willing to give of their time and resources to make a difference.
Community Action Teams’ primary mission is to preserve the dignity of individuals and families by empowering communities with a pathway to prepare and survive disasters within a localized grassroots area. We seek to unite these localized teams of citizens with public and private response teams to develop and deploy a working action plan. The purpose of the action plan is intended to be duplicated neighbor to neighbor, community to community, and city to city in geographic neighboring areas. An emergency plan can be implemented from an individual to multi-level systems for entire communities, utilizing resources that are available in each of those communities.
Community Action Teams’ primary goal is to address the spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional needs of people in times of crisis, hardship, and poverty. Our teams build community awareness by participating in year-round humanitarian outreach activities. The short and long-term goals are to develop unique collaborative partnerships on behalf of local, regional and national pre-positioning and post-implementation of humanitarian resources, before and after a disaster strikes.
Community Action Teams' primary objective is to bridge locally established Task Force Advisory Committees. These grass root committees explore attainable solutions on behalf of the general public. The primary focus is on the pre-post positioning of local talent, tools, supplies, and equipment that are vitally needed in diverse emergency situations. This includes local, regional, and statewide referrals to help facilitate access to basic human needs, including, but not limited to, disaster relief assistance, such as shelters, food pantries, and clothing outlet support facilities.
Partnership Challenge Snapshot: We are seeking underwriter stakeholder support starting at only $12.00 per year that's only $1.00 per month. Your support will help subsidize and assist our local communities year-round to those in time of genuine need with food, water, hygiene products, clothing, school supplies, medical, eye care and dental services; as well as the necessary talents, tools, supplies, and equipment for availability in unexpected diverse emergency response situations.
Your support is also valued and appreciated, as we join together to make a difference in our local grassroots communities. For more information on how you can benefit from an existing team or develop a team of your own, please contact a community action coordinator at 832-228-TEAM (8326).
